Christina Kukuk – Our Senior Minister

Christina Kukuk’s Audio Sermons

Rev. Christina G. Kukuk was born near and raised in Ashland… Ohio. A convert to the United Church of Christ, since her ordination in 2005, she has served congregations in Ohio and Minnesota. Most recently, she ventured into “spiritual R&D” as the Gathering Pastor for a new faith community on the East Side of Cleveland. A newspaper and magazine journalist in her first (shorter) career, she edited Common Lot, the magazine for UCC women, in 2014, and continues some freelance writing and editing work. Her recent work has appeared in Belt Magazine, Bearings Online, and GEEZ magazine, and The Christian Century. She blogs occasionally at Rev. Christina Kukuk’s personal blog and tweets from Rev. Christina Kukuk’s twitter.
Christina gets her dry humor from a long line of German ancestors and her love of pie, unfortunately, from both sides. She enjoys green things, outdoor activities, and really nice fiber.
Christina is married to Adam, a musician, singer, and drum circle facilitator. Together they parent two children and struggle to enforce the family rule: “no singing at the table.”

Paula Anema Sohl – Associate Minister

Paula completed her MDiv at Pacific School of Religion in 2011 and has been an Ashland resident for most of the past 24 years. She and her husband raised kids here and she is delighted that her work in the church involves kids. She loves their energy and their wisdom. She is happy incorporating music, dance, ritual, and manual arts into all facets of her ministry. She is grateful for the bold witness and warm welcome of this church.

Tege Phillips – Church Administrator

Tege Phillips has been in the administrator position for less than a year, but brings work experience in banking and social service. She transferred into the Rogue Valley area more than 3 years ago from Lakeview, OR. and has happily found a home in this warm and creative congregation. Tege has two grown sons, Sean, who lives in Medford, and Chris, in Odessa, Texas.

Music Director – Adam Kukuk

Adam Kukuk is a musician, composer & workshop facilitator. From organ and piano to choirs and drum groups, Adam has meaningfully incorporated music ranging from Bach to Tracy Chapman in worship. Always striving to help congregations discover their resources and deepen their experience of God. Whether leading a cappella call-and-response refrains, Renaissance motets, children’s bells, homemade percussion orchestras, contemporary praise music, or rousing Evangelical organ hymns, he has one goal: to help people worship God.

Kaylan Wilson – Children’s Education

Kaylan Wilson is a Southern Oregon Native and  lover of nature. When not fostering the creativity and spiritual growth of youth she can be found hiking in the woods or whitewater rafting.

Sabrina (Chiu-Mei) Shih – Child Care

Sabrina is from Taiwan and came to Ashland in 2001. She connects easily with children and loves doing childcare for the church.
